United Bank, MCB merger complete

United Bank and Monroe County Bank (‘MCB’) announced the completion of their merger, whereby MCB’s locations in Forsyth and Bolingbroke will become United Bank offices. William ‘Bill’ Bazemore has been named President of the Monroe Division for United Bank. ’We are excited to complete this transaction and proceed towards a full conversion of our banks,’ said Jim Edwards, United Bank’s CEO. ‘Monroe County shares many similar qualities with the other great communities we serve in Middle Georgia. In the weeks to come, we look forward to meeting our newest customers and learning more about this great community and how United Bank can be a part of its continued growth.’ United Bank currently serves the communities of Pike, Lamar, Spalding, Upson, Butts, Morgan, Newton, Coweta and Monroe Counties. The addition of the former MCB offices will increase United Bank’s banking offices to a total of 18 and ATMs to a total of 23. Total assets are just under $1.1 billion with over 400 employees. United Bank traces its roots back over 100 years to its founding as The Bank of Zebulon in 1905. Throughout the years the Bank has steadily focused on operating as a conservative community bank while offering innovative services to its customers such as its Customer Contact Center which offers live customer service from 7 am to 11 pm, 7 days per week. In addition to offering a wide variety of traditional personal and business loan and deposit products, United Bank is one of the largest permanent mortgage originators in the markets it serves and also offers a full service Trust and Investment Division.
