FROM BARNESVILLE PD:
On October 1, 2026, a BOLO was put out by the Duluth Police Department for a 2018 Kia Soul, green in color, that had three juvenile children in it that were possibly in danger of being harmed. At approximately 11:40am Lamar County dispatch put out a BOLO to our local agencies that the vehicle passed a Flock camera showing that vehicle was traveling into Lamar County from the I-75 area. The vehicle was later located on Southland Drive in Barnesville. The occupant of the vehicle cooperated with law enforcement and advised it was a misunderstanding. All parties were relocated to Barnesville Police Department where they waited for Gwinnett County DFCS to come and take custody of the children. No charges against anyone involved are known at this time. This stems from a DFCS case in Gwinnett County.
