Vernon Glenn McDaniel

Mr, Vernon Glenn “Tex” McDaniel, age 79, of Barnesville passed away Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014 in an Upson County healthcare facility. Mr. McDaniel was born in Jacksonville, Texas, to the late Mr. Leo McDaniel and the late Mrs. Ruth Dowling Burton. He was a diesel mechanic for Mack Trucks in Atlanta and attended Holy Ground Ministries. Survivors include his wife, Yvonne McDaniel of Barnesville; a son, Dennis Glenn McDaniel (and Lisa Oxley) of Fayetteville; a daughter, Sherry Dawn McDaniel Able (and Steve) of Canton; a sister, Nell Clark (and A.B.) of Hemphill, Texas; three grandchildren, Jessica Denise McDaniel of Fayetteville, Matthew Austin Able (and Sara Castleberry) of Dawsonville and Christopher Brandon Able of Canton; a great-grandchild, Brantley Arlow Able of Dawsonville; and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial service for Mr. Vernon Glenn “Tex” McDaniel will be conducted Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends at the Williams Funeral Home Thursday, Dec. 11, 2014 from 12 noon until the service hour. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the Masonic Children’s Home of Georgia, 1417 Nottingham Dr., Macon, Ga., 31211; or to a Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, Fla., 33607.
