The local committee working on Veterans Day festivities here has quite a day planned for local vets. Veterans Day is always observed on November 11. The school system plans to honor vets with a breakfast prior to the annual observance at 11 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial on Thomaston Street in Barnesville. A luncheon is in the works as is a halftime ceremony honoring vets of Lamar County’s first round football playoff game at Trojan Field that night. The Atlanta Falcons are also getting in on the act.
