The Lamar County Combat Veterans Association, along with the local American Legion Post, will host the annual Veterans Day observance in Barnesville Friday, Nov. 11. The observance will begin at 11 a.m. and has been moved to the Barnesville Civic Center due to the threat of inclement weather.
Richard Wright will emcee the event. Legion post commander Bob Richardson will read the list of veterans who have died since the last observance. To ensure your veteran’s name is on that list, call 770.468.0068.
The USMCV Motorcycle Club will serve as honor guard.
Steven Giglio, an Army veteran and director of the Towaliga Circuit Accountability Courts will deliver the keynote address.
