Due to weather conditions, the ceremony has been moved to the civic center.
Martin-Moore Post 25 of the American Legion will host the annual Veterans Day observance on Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial in front of the Barnesville library, according to post commander Robert Richardson who is chairing the event.
The keynote address will be given by Command Sergeant Major Robert L. Rish. CSM Rish currently commands the NCO Academy at Ft. Campbell, Ky. CSM Rish has served in multiple leadership positions including First Sergeant, team leader, squad leader, platoon sergeant and operations sergeant among others.
Richardson is currently finalizing the honor roll of local veterans who have died since last year’s observance to be read at the ceremony. If you know of one whose funeral was conducted by a funeral home other than the local ones, give him a call at 770.468.0068 to be sure they are included.
Following the ceremony, lunch will be served at the Barnesville civic center.
