Volunteers from the local VFW were out on a rainy Saturday morning placing flags at the Veterans’ Memorial downtown. Post commander Junior Hamrick reported the VFW Post is decorated with multiple flags. He and other veterans invite the community to join them in a nationwide prayer salute to the country’s war dead at 3 p.m. on Memorial Day.
