Victim’s smile results in Subway robbery arrests

A ‘˜victim’ smiling at a security camera while a rifle was held to her head during a midnight robbery at Subway on College Dr. January 15 peaked the interest of BPD investigator Al Moltrum.His suspicions led to the arrest of the purported victim and an accomplice who now faces various charges.Melissa Walton, 19, of 109 Sanders Court is charged with conspiracy to commit a crime, theft by taking and false report of a crime. Moltrum alleged Walton, an employee at Subway, allowed Anthony Parson (shown below left), 21, of 256 Railroad Street in a back door at the restaurant.’The pair then staged an armed robbery. The actions of the victim who was smiling at the security camera made me suspicious,’ Moltrum said.Parson is charged with armed robbery. Moltrum said charges are pending against a third suspect who has not yet been identified.
