The Georgia Sprint Karting Association has been chosen to be filmed for a Vintage Kart show on Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Lamar County Speedway. Filming by the Atlanta Public Television crew will begin around 10 a.m. and is expected to wrap up by 2 p.m. The focus will be on vintage karts but some modern karts will be there for comparison. There will be interviews and staged races ‘“ it is a nonrace day ‘“ featuring Georgia built karts including Hamilton Brothers, who have operated on Piedmont Road for years, and Putt-Niks out of Washington. Bob Barthelemy will be there as Barnesville’s vintage kart event coordinator and long time karter Ruben Tarca will have his restored Hamilton Bros kart.
