Vote today! Polls open 7 a.m-7 p.m.

Lamar County voters go to the polls today to cast ballots in the General Election runoff. Polling places throughout the county will be open from 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.

There is one local race on the ballot. Glen Allen and Ashley Gilles, both Republicans, will battle for the District 3 seat on the Lamar County commission.

Ballots will also feature the highly touted battle between incumbent US Senator Raphael Warnock (D) and Republican challenger Herschel Walker.

Early voter turnout has been strong throughout the state and locally. Elections supervisor Anita Reid and her staff served 3074 early voters last week and had processed 298 absentee ballots as of press time Monday.
