First Baptist Church of Barnesville is sponsoring a prayer walk around the Lamar County public schools the day before school begins, on Sunday, Aug. 4, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Prayer walking is simply praying as you are walking. ’The community is invited to join us in this special time of prayer,’ said Rev. Garth Forster. ’We believe prayer works, and praying for our schools is the best way to ensure they’ll have a great year.’ Participants will meet around the front of the Fine Arts Center at 6:30 p.m. for some Christian music, lemonade refreshments, and instructions. At 6:45 p.m. they will be given a general prayer list and asked to pick a school around which to pray.
