Wanda Delois Phillips Pollard

Wanda Delois Phillips Pollard, 69, of Barnesville, wife of James L. Pollard, died Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at Brightmoor Hospice.
Born in Griffin, April 6, 1953, she was a daughter of the late Carlton Eugene and Nina Jeanette Padgett Phillips.  Mrs. Pollard was retired from the IRS after eighteen years of service.  She formerly owned and operate the Honey Baked Ham and Café in Stockbridge for six years and was the former CEO of Pollard Trucking, a company she and her husband ran together.  She was a shop owner within owned Emily’s Attic, an antique store, worked for Federal Express in her earlier life in Alaska, and served as Manager of DB Imports at the Merchandise Mart in Atlanta.  Mrs. Pollard loved her family dearly, enjoying trips to the beach, mountain trips, hiking and reading.  She enjoyed making art and making stained glass pieces.  She treated everyone well and had a special love for animals and had volunteered with the Dolly Goodpuppy Society, where she was very active until her health declined.
Mrs. Pollard was formerly a member of Community Bible Church in Stockbridge and was a member of South Hill Street Church of Christ in Griffin.
Surviving in addition to her husband of forty years are a sister, Elaine Banks of Griffin; a niece, April Mooney and husband Richard of Barnesville; and her beloved fur babies, Lady, Hannah and Buddy.
A memorial service will be conducted Monday, February 6, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Haisten McCullough Funeral Home with Reverend Travis Smith officiating.  Private burial will be in Temple, Georgia.
The family will receive friends Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Dolly Goodpuppy Society, PO Box 361, Barnesville, GA 30204 or to the South Hill Street Church of Christ, 675 South Hill Street, Griffin, GA 30224.
