Ceremonies will be held this morning to rename a stretch of Highway 36 East in Lamar County in honor of MSG Davey N. Weaver who was killed in action in Afghanistan on May 18, 2008. MSG. Weaver was the first – and, thus far, the only – Lamar countian killed in action in the mideast wars. Ceremonies will begin at 10 a.m. at Weaver’s home church, Lilla Baptist, where his funeral was held. He is buried in the church cemetery.
