Willis Lee “Billy” Dunaway, 91, of Barnesville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at his home.
Billy was born on December 7, 1933, in Dunwoody, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Evie Brown Dunaway; his wife of 60 years and love of his life, Carolyn (“Calton”) Dunaway; and brother, Winfred Dunaway. Billy retired as a truck driver from Pilot Freight Courier. He was an avid union man and Ford was the only vehicle for him to drive. Billy loved children, animals, and hats. He always greeted you with a smile and a “Hello”; he was a happy person. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his children, Deborah (Arnold) Altman, Jennifer (Bobby) Bromilow, Gregg (Alisha) Parrott, James Parrott; brother, Tony (Linda) Dunaway; sister, Mary Luke; grandchildren, Sabrina (Justin) Gasaway, Billie Jo (Shannon) Green, Tammy (John) Roquemore, Nicole Gilstrap, Brian Altman, Alicia (Thomas) Hinton; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Joseph, Shelby, Jacob, Tanner, Caleb, Jonah, Bryce, Jenna, Colton, Andrew, Hayden, and Kendra; great great-grandchildren, Skyylin, Dastin, Hayden, Violet, Braxton, Lily, Willow, Aurora, Leila, C.J., Gigi, Barrett, and Aubrey; and nephews, Brannon Dunaway and Bobby Luke.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home, followed by a 1:00 pm service in the chapel. Interment is at Rock Springs Church Cemetery.
