A woman and a child suffered serious injuries Monday afternoon in a collision on Hwy. 41 North at its intersection with Five Points Road.The driver has been identified as Nancy Turner Wilson. The child is her nine-year-old daughter Eve. Nancy Wilson is a former Lamar Teacher of the Year.Their car, a Nissan subcompact, was southbound on the four-lane when it struck the rear end of a propane tanker trucker that was turning left through the median crossing at the intersection.Nancy Wilson has been transferred to Atlanta Medical Center. Eve Wilson is now at Egleston Children’s Hospital in Atlanta.Both victims were taken by ambulance to Spalding Regional Medical Center in Griffin and then transferred. LCVFR firefighters cut Mrs. Wilson from the car. Paramedics removed Eve and resuscitated her at the scene.More on this story as it develops.
