A 37-year-old woman was shot twice Monday night and the suspect in the shooting has been found dead.From Spalding County sheriff Wendell Beam:On Monday, February 8, 2016, at 10:42 PM, Spalding County Deputies received a report of a person shot at 206 Custer Circle, Griffin, Georgia. Upon their arrival deputies located a 37 year old female who had received a gunshot wound to the arm and chest. The victim was treated at the scene by the Emergency Medical Services and transported to the Spalding Regional Hospital and later transported to the Atlanta Medical Center.Deputies received information on the suspect involved in the shooting and all local Law Enforcement Agencies were notified. A short time later the Griffin Police Department received a report of a person shot on Thompson Street. Upon their arrival they located the suspect from the shooting on Custer Circle. It appears the suspect died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The investigation is continuing into both shootings.
