Woman walks away from spectacular crash

A female driver walked away from a spectacular crash on Hwy. 36 East Friday afternoon. An Hispanic woman wearing a McDonald’s work uniform walked away from her SUV after being extricated by rescue personnel. Her vehicle was traveling east on Hwy. 36 when it left the right side of the roadway and took out the mailbox at 441 Hwy. 36 East. The car, estimated to be traveling at a high rate of speed, hit a culvert and flipped end over end several times before landing in a yard nearly 100 yards from where it left the highway. Firefighters cut the woman, who was wearing her seatbelt from the car. Multiple beer cans littered the scene but most of them appeared to be unopened. More to follow…
