Lamar County is 3-0 on the young season after winning all three of their games this week in the Murray L. Smith Invitational baseball tournament hosted by Marion County High School in Buena Vista.The Diamond Trojans opened play with a 16-7 win over Americus-Sumter County. Senior Ryan Lovick homered in the game.Lamar outlasted the host Eagles in their second game winning 9-6. Junior Gavin Lance went deep for the locals.The Trojans secured the first place trophy with an easy 11-0 win on the mercy rule over Chattahoochee County with senior Bailey Thompson going yard.Lamar County plays its home opener this Wednesday when they host Westside Macon in a five o’clock doubleheader at Aldora Field.
