Youth recover Gunter family treasures

By Kay S. Pedrotti About 25 youths and their leaders from Gracepointe Church of the Nazarene in Grayson have been an invaluable asset to Dan and Lynn Gunter, whose home was destroyed by the April 28 tornado in Barnesville. They recovered Lynn Gunter’s wedding ring. Pastor Lonnie Grant of the Barnesville Nazarene Church says the group contacted him after he made a report on the tornado at a district assembly, and wanted to know if there was more help to be given to tornado victims. ’There’s so much of the work now that is chain-saw and tractor work,’ Grant said. ‘We picked the Gunter family, because they still have a lot of debris to be cleaned up.’ The group arrived in Barnesville July 6 and spent the night on air-mattresses in the basement of the local Nazarene Church. The next day, they went to Grove street to work at the Gunter property for about seven hours.
