Gordon College basketball standout Daveion Zellner has been selected Player of the Week by the Georgia Junior College Athletic Association. Zellner is the first player from Gordon College to ever receive the honor. Zellner averaged 18 points and 7.5 rebounds during the first two conference games of the new year. In the Jan. 9 game against Waycross, he scored 25 points and grabbed 13 rebounds against the Swamp Foxes. The sophomore is currently in the top 10 for scoring and top five for rebounding among all schools in the GJCAA. The Highlanders will face Coastal Georgia Saturday at 2 p.m. then on Wednesday they face South Georgia Tech at 7:30 p.m. After a two-game road trip, the men will face Atlanta Metro Thursday, Jan. 28 at 7:30 p.m. and then Georgia Perimeter on Saturday, Jan. 30 at 2 p.m. All are conference games.
