Cross Country team competes in Hampton

The Lamar County Trojans cross country teams competed in the Decision Bridge Invitational in Hampton Saturday, Sept. 12.  Team results were not available but individual results are as follows:  For the varsity boys,  David Henry led the way with a personal best 19:11 for 45th overall in the race. He was followed by Walker Ozier 20:07 (69th), Andre Dalianas 20:37 (76th), Daniel Huggins 20:41 (79th), Brandon Cowart 21:07 (86th), Patrick Powers 22:26 (97th) and Marc English 25:05 (104th). The varsity girls were paced by  Annie Hudgins 28:46 (84th) followed by Kirsten Fisher 28:48 (85th) personal record, Courtney Coates 29:16 (86th), Emily Hobbs 29:25 (87th) personal record and Savannah Turner 30:19 (93rd).  Junior varsity boys results were  Zach Lawson 22:02 (66th) personal record, Taylor Davis 23:43 (101st) personal record, Luke Mangrum 24:22 (110th) personal record, Destin Maxwell 25:17 (124th) personal record, Thomas Davis 25:20 (125th), Tyler English 26:27 (134th) personal record, Tommy Fisher 33:05 (154th) personal record.  And for the JV girls:  Hailey Coates 35:07 (72nd). This week the cross country team runs at Pike County in Zebulon today and at the Mercer University Invitational in Macon on Saturday.
