The Gordon College Men’s Baseball Team won its last four games, one at home and three on the road. The wins set Gordon 14-10 for the season in regular play and 5-1 in conference games. Gordon beat Cleveland State at home 9-1. Louis Bailey got the win with seven innings pitched and four strike-outs. Brandon Mainor led the offense going 3-3 with a pair of singles and a home run.Gordon took all in a three-game road stand against ABAC in Tifton. In the first game, 7-2, Pat McGowan pitched seven innings for the win while Aaron Dobbs paced the offence with a 3-5 performance at the plate including a double. Pitcher Josh Evans took the second game, 10-0, striking out six while the Highlanders’ offense exploded for 10 runs on 11 hits. Jim Moreland was 3-5 while Brandon Miller was 2-4 with a homer. Brad Hutson picked up his first save of the year.The Highlanders completed the sweep scoring 8 to ABAC’s 6 runs.Gordon pitchers Bryant Kerns, Nate Bowen, and Tucker Stone combined to strike out 10.Nate Bowen picked up the win in relief while Tucker Stone picked up his second save of the year. Luke Walls led the offense with a 3-3 performance and 3 runs scored. In other sports, the Gordon College Men’s Basketball team fought hard but lost to South Georgia Tech 70-58 in the first round of the GJCAA Tournament.The Highlanders rallied at the half coming within a basket of tying things up 34-32.
