Lamar County Trojans baseball report

The Lamar Co. Trojans came away from Aldora Field on Tuesday night, March 10th, with an 8-4 win over their Region 5-AA opponent, Crawford Co. The Trojans staked the visitors to a 4-0 lead in the first inning by allowing several Crawford Co. hitters to reach base via base-on-balls, coupled with a timely hit by the Eagles. The score remained at 4-0, Crawford Co., until the 3rd inning, when the Trojans scored 2 runs of their own. The Trojans ended-up adding 4 more runs in the 4th inning, and 2-insurance runs in the bottom of the 6th. T.J. English picked up the win for the Trojans, after toiling on the mound for 6-innings. Marcus English came on in relief in the top of the 7th to close out the win for the Trojans. Blane Parker and Trent Nix led the Trojans at the plate with solid results. Parker had a bases clearing triple with 3-Trojans aboard in the 4th inning to propel the Trojans back into contention for the win. Lamar Co. 8-6-1 Crawford Co. 4-4-2
